While hopes for an upcoming album by Child Rebel Soldier (CRS), also known as rap triumvirate Pharrell, Kanye West, and Lupe Fiasco, have almost been lost, Lupe told “The Morning Crew” at Hartford’s Hot 93.7 that the release has only been delayed due to the priority of other projects. Their collaborative sessions turn out to be one-off records as opposed to a cohesive project.
“I think the Jay-Z/Kanye collabo [Watch the Throne] kinda was like, ‘Aww man, aww no’. Whenever we get to go in [the studio] and have the time and the opportunity to do it, we’re always working on some other project. Pharrell gon’ do a soundtrack for a movie, Kanye does another project. It’s becoming less of an album and more of everytime we do a song together—me, ‘Ye, and Pharrell, a CRS thing.”
Mr. Fiasco himself has to dedicate his precious time to his much anticipated Lasers-LP which is set to drop March 8th. You can listen to the interview in its entirety here. Stay tuned.
