Catherine Malandrino Spring 2011

Others may be getting more hype but their offerings are not as perfect as Catherine Malandrino’s, whose ability to marry edge, effortless elegance and sex with her Spring 2011 collection is sort of amazing. And while there wasn’t a lot of color or pattern work in this collection, Malandrino is certainly not afraid of it and touched on it here and there with steady-handed fearlessness. And the accessories, and the shoes…all black magical. On another note, Malandrino was the only designer thus far in NY Fashion Week who chose to show outside, using Lincoln Ceter to show her collection.
