Kanye West Compares “Runaway” to “Flashing Lights”

In a recent interview with MTV’s Jayson Rodriguez, Kanye West delves a little bit deeper into the personal meaning of his upcoming film Runaway which is set to debut this Saturday. He reveals that there are similarities between the ambitous project and his 2007-video for “Flashing Lights”.
“I think there’s a lot of similarity in this and “Flashing Lights”. “Flashing Lights” is my favorite piece of work that I’ve done. The pacing, people are always like, ‘Where is the rest of it?’ But we didn’t have the time or whatever or the money to do the rest of it. But I might do the rest of it, the beginning and the end. Two years from now, I might give you the whole ‘Flashing Lights’ video, put ‘I Wonder’ in it, ‘Say You Will’ and songs that I feel like doing.”
Kanye West’s “Runaway” will premiere Saturday at 8 p.m. ET on MTV, MTV2 and BET, and will also stream live on MTV.com, BET.com and VH1.com, followed by a live Q&A session on MTV and MTV.com.
