The Spring/Summer 2011 collection from UK fashion label maharishi is inspired by 1940’s North African Desert Military and is titled ‘Theatre of War’. Highlights include oversized asymmetric and quilted parkas, low crotch desert tribal style pants, safari inspired smocks, African textiles along with all terrain camouflage and other military influenced items. Many items use distressed cottons and natural fibres including washed Irish linen and hemp amongst lightweight voluminous voiles and recycled vintage parachute cloth. maharishi retains its strong anti-war sentiments and brings forth the objection towards the continued desert warfare.
