It was just announced that Kanye West will make his comeback performance at this year's BET Awards on June 27. If nothing else, Kanye is an incredible performer. Say what you will about his personal life and off-stage antics, but when it comes to putting on a show 'Ye is unrivaled. He constantly takes his live performances to another level entirely, bringing showmansip and concepts that few in the the rap game, or music world in general, can compare to. Kanye's performace is art. In anticipation of his BET Awards performance here's a look at the 5 best Yeezy live performances so far.
5. "Good Life" (featuring T-Pain). 2007 VMA's.
"Good Life" is one Kanye's most celebratory songs, so it makes sense that for this VMA performance he partied it up with T-Pain and a bunch of fans.
4. "Pinocchio Story"
Kanye let everything off of his mind with this performance/freestyle.
3. "Jesus Walks" (featuring John Legend, Mavis Staples & The Blind Boys of Alabama), 2006 Grammy Awards
Kanye brought church to the Grammy awards with this performance, bringing out John Legend, soul and gospel veteran Mavis Staples, a pastor and a full choir.
2. "Heartless" VH1 Storytellers
The 808s and Heartbreaks-era was very emotionally wrenching for Ye, and this performance is probably the most soul-bearing he's ever been.
1. "Stronger/Hey Mama" 2008 Grammy Awards
Ye paid tribute to his mother, the late Dr. Donda West, in this classic performance. Definitely his most genuine, heartfelt moment to date.
